An Awe-Inspiring Living Wall Is Unveiled In Melbourne

Melbourne-based designer Adam Cornish and Junglefy bring clean air to Denfair.

If you’re visiting Denfair in Melbourne, prepare to both breathe easy, and be enlivened by an exciting new innovation!

Local design legend (and cat person) Adam Cornish has joined forces with ‘living infrastructure specialists’ Junglefy on The Clean Air Installation. Their eco-friendly design demonstrates the impact of air pollution in our cities and the biological power of plants to provide cleaner air.

A self-contained microclimate, the installation sees surrounding air polluted with a smoke machine, before being purified thanks to the Junglefy Breathing Wall. How exactly? The Wall features a unique plant-based filter system, and its technology has already been scientifically proven to work in both indoor and outdoor context.

‘The breathing wall system was designed with the simple aim of harnessing nature’s inherent air cleaning and purifying qualities,’ tells Adam. ‘Through scientific research, we were able to focus in on the exact biological mechanisms that filter the air and through design enhance these features to give greater filtration than what occurs naturally.’

Skeptics, stop by and see this sleek innovation in action!
